The New Natural //

“Nature has always been a powerful tool in design, architecture and urban planning. Its positive impact on the human condition is undeniable, with 80% of people attributing the improvement to their mental health to being in nature.    A turn to green architecture and living spaces that promote wellness through a connection with the natural world has been a key driver in creating sustainable environments that improve the quality of life of the occupants.  And now, the essential role of the outdoors is proving to be more critical than ever before.” We therefore see a big move to Biophilic Design { our new natural } a concept used within the design industry to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment through-the-use of direct nature, indirect nature, and space and place conditions.

2021 TRENDS //

2021 Post-COVID Lifestyle Trends // New needs and lifestyles are emerging from the days we are living now. We are in a moment of significant uncertainty, but there are already some new rising trends we can observe as a consequence of the pandemic. In pandemic times, well-being is more than ever a key concept in our lives and will remain relevant in a post-pandemic world.

Light Woods from Scandinavian inspirations, light woods will be a trend material for interiors. This material will be used not only for flooring, but also for covering walls and ceilings. Light woods in its raw colour and aesthetic, will be a highlight for multipurpose spaces. A nature accent with a tactile design trend of 2021.

A new way to create more privacy or make a division between spaces, primarily seen in restaurants, but will be seen residential interior design projects. Created with metallic materials, but also it can be created with natural woods for a more boho-chic contemporary look.

Although is not new, this trend will reach it’s highest in 2021, people will create closer relations between nature and their homes. Rattan or Vienna straw is being applied in many furniture pieces. But now, they are already in fashion, with Balmain Autumn/Winter 2021 Couture collection, it has adopted the same natural material into a dress.

A sequence of the modern 80s design trend 2021, this element adds a pop colour to make divisions in home decoration.

They have been seen throughout the year in furniture, reviving the 80’s curves…but now you expect to see it everywhere, from architectural arcs, mirrors, bathtubs and of course, it will remain trending for sofas and armchairs. Curved lined elements are excellent to break up the rigidity of any space because it will act as an unexpected element that will add interest and an unconventional shape to your space.

Forget Scandinavian minimalism. Today we are clearly moving from past “scandi” style, defined by total white and black/white, to something more nuanced. The result is spaces which are welcoming, cozy, even if they keep the clean and minimal Scandinavian signature mood. The perfect backgrounds are all the warm off-whites hues: from champagne to beige, total white has been replaced by new warm neutral colours. 2021 brings an adaption to the New Nordic trend by adding in elements of Biophilia - Biophilia interiors are spaces that reconnect us with nature. Biophilia is more then bringing the outdoors in.It’s about making and strengthening a connection with many aspects of nature.

Lately the most marked trend in interior design and decoration has focused on the personalization of spaces. That is taking personal style into account when creating our homes, without sticking to the mainstream, or to what the experts think about the latest trends. Encouraging creativity through the search for one’s own personal expression has become the main style of the majority and this has greatly influenced the possibilities offered by the Internet. Having access to so much information allows us to know new possibilities
