Using timber, glass, and metal, the design balances warmth, transparency, and modernity — honouring craftsmanship while embracing cutting-edge materials. Sustainability is at the core, with energy-efficient systems and eco-friendly materials ensuring adaptability for future trends. Celebrating African artistry, the space subtly weaves in indigenous patterns and textures, infusing soul into its futuristic aesthetic. This prestigious installation is a new curated showcase bringing the world’s most iconic design masterpieces to South Africa, celebrating heritage, innovation, and cross-cultural exchange.

The Rialheim Café will showcase Rialheim’s exquisite handmade tiles and decor pieces in an immersive, design-led installation. A café where tiles take center stage—adorning walls, bar counters, and key focal points—while ceramic ware is beautifully displayed throughout, creating a rich, tactile experience for visitors.

The Continent’s Most Innovative Materials – In One Curated Showcase

Curated by Alan Hayward and Garreth van Niekerk, Executive Creative Directors of 100% Design Africa, the African Materials Pavilion is a bold new feature exploring the material ingenuity of the continent—from ancestral craft resources to forward-thinking biomaterials and future-facing technologies.

 Sailor Tinkerbell is a multidisciplinary artist and muralist. She draws inspiration from exploring humans’ connection with nature and modern culture. After graduating from the art school and graphic design university, Sailor Tinkerbell found her passion in street art and public events. Since moving to Cape Town in 2022, the artist has completed over 50 murals and worked in the art production teams at Wolfkop Weekender, Bazique, Playtopia, Afrikaburn, and other events.
