From bustling café-style setups to full-to-the-brim bubbly bars, Decorex Cape Town brings the buzz. Part of the journey is discovering all the cool networking hotspots to grab a flute of starry liquid and catch up with colleagues and friends. For Decorex Joburg, renowned local furniture designer Haldane Martin will be working with Cosentino on an exciting stand concept that reveals Haldane’s superb use of Cosentino products in his contemporary collections.

The KSA’s kitchen trend project was started in 2022 out of a desire for the KSA to have a platform for their supplier members to showcase new products and materials and for some of their smaller members to have access to a platform like Decorex to exhibit their designs and have access to a mass marketing platform.
The 2023 KSA kitchen trend project is being proudly sponsored by PG Bison, Sonae Arauco, Rehau, Max on Top, Grass, Vogue Doors, Neolith and Franke. Their products and materials will be showcased in four unique kitchens designed and manufactured by Eurofit Kitchens and Cupboards based in Fourways, Montana Interiors based in Bloemfontein, Shumba Innovations based in Midrand and Island Board based in Soshanguve. The sponsors work closely with the kitchen companies ensuring that each kitchen showcases different elements of their ranges with a focus on new products, colours, decorative panels and textures.
Zanele Montle is an artist and founder of Founder @letstalkartanddesign. Her work effortlessly articulates its subject matter using vivid colours and bold repetitions, showcasing a strong sense of design elements. Through her acrylic depictions of everyday life activities, she continuously questions the definition of black identity in her artistic practice.

The South African design industry wouldn’t be what it is today without the scores of up-and-coming designers who are constantly shaping the future of the industry.
Stand-out young talents who are exhibiting in the shared 100% Design Africa and Design Joburg hall include Thabo Kopele, Wanda Lephoto and Kasi Flavour. South African Fashion Week 2020 Scouting Menswear finalist Thabo Kopele will launch his debut furniture collection entitled “Lejwe”.
An all-star collaboration is heading your way. Mpho Vackier of TheUrbanative, Mash T Design Studio’s Thabiso Mjo, Lulasclan’s Bonolo Chepape and Modern Gesture’s Candice Lawrence recently completed a collaborative design project, ‘Live from the Sunny Side’, for global beer brand SOL. Their authentically South African designs will be on display as part of the Clout/SA X SOL feature at the show.
‘The light-heartedness and the energy of the brand made for a really wonderful match with our South African designers, who have that very bold and optimistic approach to their design,’ says Clout/SA’s Tracy Lynch, who curated the collection.
The next generation of South Africa’s designers are reasserting the potential and power of design to create meaningful change. They are leveraging the cultural credibility of design, including the reinvention of traditional techniques, to create sustainable solutions and products with wide commercial appeal that tackle social and environmental problems, both locally and globally.

Colours inspired by our natural landscapes makes their presence felt, as do soothing hues. For those drawn to the bold, a combination of monochromes will deliver a sharp and fresh graphic note, while rich pigments speak to the influence of traditional prints and weaves.
